The Rainbow Drip Craft Shop Project is an economic empowerment project. This project is an opportunity to provide an alternative income for Refugee LBTI, AGYW who have been affected by COVID19 in a more adverse way since this Pandemic has affected Refugees. The project has taken six months. Objectives of the project are;
- 1. We conducted financial literacy training and Vocational training in shoe making and Jewellery Making by September 2021 in Wakiso district to build capacity of 20 LGBTIQ+ refugee AGYW in entrepreneurship skills . This has improved their capacity to be self-employed through mentorship skill trainings in jewellery making, shoe making and tailoring. Participants will be awarded with certificates and financial literacy training.
- 2. Opened a Rainbow Drip craft shop for the products produced by 20 LGBTIQ+ Refugee to increase their livelihoods by end of the project. The shop has helped to create a market space for Queer Creatives to meet and sell their merchandise in order to earn a living in their communities and increase their visibility, advocacy through art, capacity to access resources and build allies across the different Creative Industries networks.
